Yi-Chen Hsieh is a graduate student in the Graduate Program in Molecular and Human Genetics. She received her B.S. in Biological Science from National Chiao Tung University in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and her M.S. in Microbiology and Immunology from National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. For her Masters, she used the Drosophila system to study the signaling pathways relevant to human cancer biology. She was awarded a scholarship for overseas study from the Ministry of Education in Taiwan to pursue her interests in genomics. She is currently using Drosophila and other models of Alzheimer's disease to investigate RNA splicing disruption in Tau-induced neurodegeneration.
