Amit K. Chouhan is a Research Associate in the Laboratory for Integrative Functional Genomics. He received his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Raipur, Chhatisgarh, India and subsequently received a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from the UT Southwestern Medical Center Dallas and UT Arlington. He subsequently developed expertise in Drosophila neurophysiological approaches as a laboratory research associate at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. Amit is developing powerful genetic assays in fruit fly models of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease and leveraging these tools to enhance our understanding of disease susceptibility and pathogenesis.
