Gabriela Castro

Gabriela Castro is a Clinical Research Coordinator I at Baylor College of Medicine, working under Dr. Joshua Shulman in the Human Genetics Team. She received her BA in Neuroscience and Behavior from Barnard College of Columbia University in 2019. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the effects of microdosing smoked cannabis, which was completed under the guidance of Dr. Suzette Evans at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and was fully funded by a research grant. Prior to joining the Shulman Team, Gabriela completed a brief research apprenticeship under Dr. Aziz Shaibani at the Nerve and Muscle Center of Texas. Gabriela's current research focuses on the relationship between lysosomal storage disorders and risk of Parkinson's disease.
